1. Which was my favorite artwork this semester? My favorite artwork this semester would have to be the "Landscape" because it was my first actual landscaping artwork on the Ipad.
2. Which artwork would I like to redo? I would like to redo the "Artist Observe" because I would like make some more shading, and redo the background. 3. What is something I've learned in art class that I can apply to work in my other classes or outside of art? We can use the studio habits outside of art class, because in some cases you need to observe things and explore/understand. 4. What is one thing I wish we could have done in art? I wish we could have done something around "reimagining".

Our final artwork is supposed to based off of what we think of ourselves. What makes us, us. I created my artwork using an 11' x 14' white canvas with acrylic paints. My idea behind this piece is that the telescope is showing us the good parts about me and and the darkness is supposed to be about the things that I hate or fears. My goals were to show what makes me up. My overall thoughts of this, is I like it. I think it definitely shows both what I love and my fears.
For our project we had to create a collage. Mine has to deal with like the sea, Maritime, and water. It has a mermaid, it's got pieces of blue paper to show that it is water theme. And there are a couple minor pieces to kind of give it a balance of water to non-water.
The tools I used for my for my artwork were all created and used on an app called Procreate, it is an app that will allow you to digitally create your artworks. It is easy and well versatile on what you can use for brushes, colors and shadowing. When i use Procreate, I typically only use the round brush and that gives you more of a smoother drawing lines.
My artwork is an image of seascape, it has an island in the middle of the water with a palm tree standing in the middle of the island. On the side of the image there is another palm tree but you are only able to see the wood part of the tree. I created this piece using my Ipad with an app called Procreate. This piece is inspired by what my vacation place would be. I love water, so I figured the landscape I should draw is a seascape. Considering this is my first digitally created artwork
Landscaping IdeasOur new project is Landscapes. We have the options of choosing either Seascapes, Cityscapes, and or just a traditional Landscape. I chose to do my artwork on a seascape. But it is not going to be another painting on a canvas, I will be using my Ipad to create a digital version of my artwork. Down below are a few of my sketches. Painting BootcampIn addition to this post over the past few weeks we have been working with different medias but in my other painting class I've used acrylic paints for my bootcamp. In 2d art class I've been using watercolors and working with different types of ways to use watercolors, and the way that I like using is wet on wet. Which is essentially putting water on the paper/canvas and then painting on the paper/canvas. This type of habit is developing a new craft and I think you need to develop new crafts in order to make different outcomes.
My artwork is a drawing of a playstation 4 controller. We were given a project that we are supposed to observe an everyday object and then place what we see onto our canvas. I created my artwork by using color crayons and color pencils. The stenciling in the background was created using a cut out piece of paper. This project we have is a good way of really understanding what you are drawing and helps you get more comfortable with the shadings and different types of colors needed. I truly think that for being my first artwork that i've spent time observing the minor things that I usually wouldn't have, I think it is pretty good.
The Artist's Process- What is a "Thinking drawing?" - A thinking drawing is many sketches to work out an idea.
- How does Thiebaud use "thinking drawings" to create his final compositions? - He uses this to help him find interesting and dynamic composition. - In what ways do Thiebaud’s preparatory sketches relate to his final composition? In the sketches and in his final composition is they both have heavy shadows. - Looking at the artwork, Rows of Ties, how is the tie hanging on the right different from the other ties? Why do you think Thiebaud separates it? The tie on the right is probably separated because all of the other ties are just straight lines and circles, and that tie has curvy lines. I think he put that tie by itself is because it helps make the painting bigger and there's more to look at. For the past few weeks we we´ve been working on our first artwork ¨The object¨ and that project was to teach us students how to observe and see items more clearly. The object I chose to observe and initially draw/color was a Playstation 4 Controller. And with this tactic of closely observing I found some things that I wouldn't see on a regular basis. The first image is a picture of the item and the second image is my drawing.
On my last blog we have been working on what types of materials we would like to use and how to properly use those materials. This week we have working on Observing, as in trying to get some of the shading, creating the minor details that we wouldn't really pay attention to on a regular basis. Adding to that, we have been learning to Engage and Persist as in trying to stay focused for about 5 min or so making those details. We did a Mind Map today titled ¨Journey¨ where we had to think of things that we could branch off of that word and really Envision what all of our options really are.
